Wild Mushroom Foraging Trips
Come on a foraging trip with and look for wild mushrooms and other wild food!
Guided "Foraying" Trips - Now Available in East and West Sussex, and Surrey and other outlying counties (see details below)
That is not a typing mistake, the idea of "Foraying" is not to go and raid the countryside of wild food and fungi but more to find it, identify it and record what you have learned without denuding the area of fungi.
Foraying is more like "bird watching for wild food" as opposed to harvesting (foraging). It is ecologically more friendly and means you can learn about fungi and wild food without filling your cars with everything edible.
These trips are run by Geoff Dann who is very well versed with wild foods and will provide a superb learning experience for those wanting to have an expert show them the wonderful wild food that lives in our green and pleasant land.
Here are the details:
- £80 minimum charge for 2 hours, +£15 per hour thereafter.
- Covrage: East and West Sussex, and Surrey. Geoff will go further afield if people are willing to cover travelling costs and time.
- It is weather-dependent, since the fungi have a tendency to no-show if it has been too dry. If you have a specific area that you know contains wild food and fungi then this would be ideal as a starting point for a trip.
