It will soon be time to start looking for the wonderful and weird Morels!
These wild mushrooms are almost exclusive to the spring and can start appearing from March through to April/May when the weather warms. Generally they only appear in small areas for a short period and are quite hard to find.
I think they are one of my favourites as they are so excellent to dry and then you can enjoy them all throughout the year. I personally think thay have a lovely flavour (although mild) and unlike some wild mushrooms, (which can go slimey when cooked) these little chaps maintain a wonderful texture.
